the reason we have an electoral college, really, is so that NOT EVERYBODY chooses who will be president. the founders didn’t trust everyone. i don’t either. HOWEVER, i also don’t trust this 2-party system that is so horribly entrenched in the psyche of this country and it’s people.

we shouldn’t choose someone based on popularity….we should choose them on what they stand for, and i’m sorry, dems & reps are the same same thing (2 sides of the same coin)…it won’t really matter which one wins. unless it had been Ron Paul as he is truly Libertarian….if i hadn’t have written him in, i think i would have gone Constitutional party or Nader….the Libertarian candidate this time voted yes for the FASCIST ACT (RE: “PATRIOT act”)…

so now i’m reading Philip Wylie’s GENERATION OF VIPERS which though not following a story line, it is following a theme. that theme being (and i quote):

“…that Americans have lost their moral sensibilities by living too objectively and with too little subjective awareness”

just as good as OPUS 21, even without following a “story.” i am still awed by how remarkably well these books fit these times. Wylie says in his preface that if you like it, then you should write him and let him know. i really wish i could!!!

i have a special war edition (WWII), with smaller print to conserve paper. i wonder what the regular size print was, ’cause small is still kind of big.

i would have quoted OPUS but that would have ended up being practically the entire book. but here’s a little nip from VIPERS:

“Man’s physical senses were extended enormously by science. The degree and the speed of that achievement are, indeed, the most common sources of our contemporary vanity; they form the whole preposterous case for the claim that we are civilized.”

there is much more too, but it’s best to read for yourself. slowly and with determination.

i’ll let you all in on a little secret. Virginia is my native state, in fact i’ve known many people to pass through the halls of Virginia Tech, though i myself was not among them. so this is an interesting situation for me. in fact, i find it all rather amusing. this may not win me points with the general public, but if you look at things from the point of view of the architects of the machine, it really is quite amusing. for one reason, people are so predictable. for another, people are so gullible. for a third, people are so oblivious. for a fourth, people are so easily manipulated (thoughts, feelings, and actions). and for a fifth, it’s so insanely easy to get what you want if you just have enough time, money, power, and patience to pull it off. and the architects of the machine have all of those qualities in massive amounts. it’s not even a secret. it’s right out in the open, very easy to see if you just look out of the corner of your eye. they don’t hide anything, so you can’t really accuse them of lying. but they never tell the whole truth. the best way to hide something is in plain view, albeit indirectly, or just at the edge of perception. and the best way to convince people is to mix the truth with a little diversion, something that could be the full truth but really isn’t. that way, the people think they’re in the know, when they really are being easily deceived. in fact, i’m more than convinced that the general populace WANTS TO BE DECEIVED. truth sure isn’t pretty, and it’s finding out that the people you thought were around to protect your health, your rights, your freedom could care less about “the common man/woman” is a hard pill to swallow. especially when it involves the sacrifice of innocent lives. which it almost always does. but really, 30-odd people is a small small quantity compared to what goes on elsewhere in the world, and what has gone on everywhere for centuries upon millennia.

here’s what we need to remember: the machine wants something that it knows it can’t get by just doing it overtly because the general populace, though overwhelming stupid, would notice and could possibly try to stop it, which they might could pull off because there is a lot of them and they can get pretty violent when storming together as a group with a like mind and a decent supply of weaponry……SO the thing to do is be subtle and sly: CREATE THE PROBLEM, CONTROL & MANIPULATE THE REACTION THROUGH MEDIA OUTLETS, AND THEN OFFER UP THE SOLUTION (which the people are now clamoring for), THAT SOLUTION OF COURSE BEING THE VERY THING YOU WANTED IN THE FIRST PLACE, BUT NOW GENERAL POPULACE THINKS IT THOUGHT OF IT, SO THEY ARE ALL SATISFIED WITH GIVING UP A LITTLE FREEDOM, A LITTLE MORE OF THEIR LIVES BECAUSE IT HAS TO BE THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE THE WORLD A SAFER PLACE (but really it’s only making the world an easier place for the machine, for control, for fascism, for military dictatorships, etc and so on as nauseum and a worse one, a more frightening one for you and me)

driving early monday morning, NPR mentioned something about 9-11. lalala, i thought, it has been awfully quiet since then, when are they going to start pushing the agenda again? well, i didn’t have to wait too long for my answer!!! i happened to be somewhere where a lady who had a son at VA TECH was working. so we found out about everything right pretty early on. and you know, the more i hear, the more that “develops,” the more i have to smile because it is working out so wonderfully…..the architects have achieved another marvelous work, pulled off another beautiful plan without a hitch. they must certainly be patting themselves on their backs, popping those champagne corks in celebration of a job well done.

here are the thoughts that hit me as soon as i heard what happened:

• students murdered, ok, big tragedy, lets get rid of some more “unalienable rights”
• murderer quiet with violent thoughts, ooo wait, he’s been involved with video games and psychiatrics, but no one really pushed that last one….the architects have been wanting to force psychiactric care on students/teachers that have thoughts of their own, well what a perfect excuse to a) get people to start really policing each other and make it easier for the machine and b) get everyone on mind-numbing drugs (that often end up making people more violent….hmmmm)….this way anybody who thinks outside the box will be easily and effectively forced back in it. NOT EVERYONE WHO IS QUIET, PLAYS VIDEO GAMES, OR THINKS FOR THEMSELVES IS A MURDERER, BUT OF COURSE THIS IS WHAT WE ARE LED TO BELIEVE….of course, CHEMICALS, in food, in legal drugs, in water, and high-tech mind games are more often the culprits, but whatever
• murderer is of Asian descent and come to find out he is not a full citizen either….so that means the threat is not here at home, it comes from far away, it’s these “aliens” these “others” (i feel like i’m in an episode of LOST) that are coming here and harming us….never ever could it be the people in our political backyards. (regardless of which part of Korea he was from, what are the associations the average person has with Korea, hmmmmm?)
• university leaders, the police, etc all acted very inefficiently and seemed to not think it wise to let students clearly know that there had been some early shootings (before the main one) and the police, etc were so scared and slow (all those doughnuts) they just couldn’t get in there in time to do anything! awwwww…..poor police! (why are so many so fat? how can you be an officer and be fat? i think our police force really needs to rethink their hiring policy, or once you get fat you have to have an office job)
• murderer is very proficient with 2 small handguns…kills a lot of people quite easily without having had any sort of training, which is hard to do with 2 small handguns….easier with some sort of assault rifle, but he didn’t have that…easier of course if you are trained to be an expert marksman/assassin, but he didn’t have that either….so they say. (hmmmmm….what do they have buried in those lovely Virginia mountains so close to Blacksburg?)
• ok, the best was when i found out about the PACKAGE!!! oh god, how i laughed! it’s so perfect! i love that he had time to accomplish all this between his shootings (if there wasn’t another shooter, and if he was really the one who sent the package, which he must have been of course, why would anyone else be involved?) anyhoo, it just pushes more the agenda of a quiet lone crazed person (meaning all quiet people or all loners are obviously deranged and violent). they’ve been pushing that one for a long long time. but hopefully this time, since it was determined by a judge that he was a threat to himself and others and no one did anything about it, that now the architects will have the power to force anyone into treatment for any reason they make up. which is how it’s going to be. you don’t tow the line, you get reformed. you want to grow your own food, you get reformed. you question your government, you get reformed. (again, i feel like i’m in an episode of LOST….you know “the room” they put you in if you start acting/thinking for yourself) and you don’t have to be violent, in fact it’s better if you’re not–they want the true violent people free and the rest enslaved, if not completely physically, then mentally & emotionally. and they do a pretty good job already, but it doesn’t hurt to be as all-encompassing as possible.
• back to guns: oh see how easy it was for a non-citizen to get a gun! to get 2 guns! well, that’s definitely the problem, so let’s make it harder for actual citizens to get guns. in fact, let’s get rid of them altogether! (forgetting of course, that all criminally-minded people will still have easy access to guns and will use them and things will be even more fun since you won’t have a gun nor try to get a gun illegally because you don’t think or act like that….so that means criminals will obey and act honorably? delusions, folks. and really. a massive populace is so much easier to control when they have no means to protect themselves. big brother does not have my best interests at heart, and i would much rather go down with a fight then to be murdered like an animal. damn hunters. there’s a lot of innocents mindlessly killed for “sport” as they call it. well, people can be sport too i suppose.)
• the constant newscasts are very reminiscent of the 9-11 fiasco, which brings in some perfectly complimentary & similar feelings/thoughts to this event. in fact, i wondered if there was any connection with monday’s date to 9-11. and there is. let’s see, April 16th, 2007 or 4-16-2007…4 + 1 + 6 = 11 and 2 + 0 + 0 + 7 = 9, that is 11/9 as the Brits write it or 9-11 here in the states. why is that so easy? you don’t have to dig for that one.
• but my main thought is really how perfectly it all went off. how effectively the architects design & execute their plans. and how stupid people are to swallow the hogwash the media throws at us. if you still don’t think we’re living in a fascist regime, then please read a little bit about Germany prior to and during Hitler’s rise. then compare the defining characteristics of a fascist government and open your eyes a little. the things right under your nose are the hardest to see. it’s the best place to hide something.

so yes, i really do smile when i hear anyone talking about this. you may think i’m evil, which is inaccurate, for it’s not the death that makes me smile, nor the horror, nor the tragedy. it’s merely because i have been researching for years and history has a wonderful way of repeating itself. there are things that the architects of this machine have wanted for a long time, and they need disasters, horrors, death to achieve their goals. we are all simply pawns in a worldwide game of chess. and if you think otherwise, you are sorely deluded. it is so easy to sacrifice a few of us or even millions of us (without batting an eye, i might add). i smile not in joy but in awe of how perfectly the problem-reaction-solution ploy plays out. i certainly don’t like it, but these architects really have it going for them. i wish i could be that effective and that patient.

now it’s time for you to exercise your mind a bit and do some detective work. start lifting up the rugs so to speak. taking off those horse-blinders. it’s really better that way….information has a much more lasting effect if you take an active role. and don’t be afraid to follow your gut either–intuition is not all irrational (and neither is reason), despite what authorities may have you believe.

so bravo, ye architects of this grand machine. you’ve pulled it off. again.

on a lighter note. Philip Wylie and Robertson Davies are both marvelous authors. i highly recommend them to any serious thinker, bibliophile, or any person willing to expand their minds a little with some wonderfully excellent authoring.

yes, this is the same stuff they like to put in water (for your “good”) and in toothpaste (again, for the “good” of your own self and your teeth) or at least some derivative of….i mean, it’s not like there’s any evidence that it’s unhealthy, right? (too bad you can’t put sarcasm as easily in writing as you can speech)….

OK then! notice the first main word? POISONOUS? notice how they use it in “RAT AND INSECT POISONS ETC.”?

let’s go a little further: what is hydrofluoric acid? quick turn to page 473 of the same dictionary, 1st column, near the bottom:

“hydrofluoric acid   a highly corrosive and poisonous weak acid, HF, formed by dissolving hydrogen fluoride in water, used in etching glass”

so does mixing “a highly corrosive and poisonous weak acid” with soda ash render it good for you, your body, your teeth, your bones? you’re going to have a difficult time convincing me of that one.

but your dentist thinks it’s fine and good, the “authorities” think it’s fine and good, your parents dutifully bought you fluoridated toothpaste that discolored your teeth so that now you have to whiten them to achieve that “perfect beautiful” smile…..just try to not swallow that toothpaste.

somewhere in all this everyone seemed to forget that the NAZIS in WW2 Germany liked to use SODIUM FLUORIDE in the water supplies of their concentration camps….and we know what wonderful places of health and good feeling those were! (sarcasm again) in fact, it was not long after the war ended that suddenly it became necessary to start putting sodium fluoride in the water supplies of the United States. well, that’s a little odd. why would we want to emulate the Nazis that we sacrificed so many lives to destroy?

it’s all just a little disconcerting to me.

plus the fact that it’s been shown to not prevent cavaties, is the only thing added to water for medicative purposes, actually causes a lot of harm both physically and mentally, and can actually weaken bones (IN FACT, HYDROFLUORIC ACID IF SPILLED ON YOUR SKIN AND ABSORBED, WILL THEN SEEK OUT THE CALCIUM IN YOUR BONES AND WILL ESSENTIALLY EAT AWAY AT YOUR BONES….so explain to me again how a thing made from something so dangerous and poisonous can be good for me?)

there are 2 ways i know of to get rid of fluoride (& chloride, another nasty chemical) out of your tap water: distillation and reverse osmosis filtration. and that’s the only kind of water i’ll drink, besides fresh spring water that i know the source of and filter myself.

i used to have a nice amount of links about fluoride, but these are mostly on my old and very slow computer. next time it is on i will be posting those here. until then, please entertain yourself with these, which should lead you to some more sites & info as well. maybe you’ll even learn where they get the fluoride for their fluoridation from! (i know, of course, but people need to do their own sleuthing and exercising of their brains, which i am of the opinion is fast becoming a lost art)

2) Fluoride is the only chemical added to drinking water for the purpose of medication (to prevent tooth decay). All other treatment chemicals are added to treat the water (to improve the water’s quality and safety – which fluoride does not do). This is one of the reasons why most of Europe has rejected fluoridation. For instance:

In Germany, “The argumentation of the Federal Ministry of Health against a general permission of fluoridation of drinking water is the problematic nature of compulsion medication.”

In Belgium, it is “the fundamental position of the drinking water sector that it is not its task to deliver medicinal treatment to people. This is the sole responsibility of health services.”

In Luxembourg, “In our views, drinking water isn’t the suitable way for medicinal treatment and that people needing an addition of fluoride can decide by their own to use the most appropriate way.”

3) Contrary to previous belief, fluoride has minimal benefit when swallowed. When water fluoridation began in the 1940s and ’50s, dentists believed that fluoride needed to be swallowed in order to be most effective. This belief, however, has now been discredited by an extensive body of modern research (1).

According to the Centers for Disease Control, fluoride’s “predominant effect is posteruptive and topical” (2). In other words, any benefits that accrue from the use of fluoride, come from the direct application of fluoride to the outside of teeth (after they have erupted into the mouth) and not from ingestion. There is no need, therefore, to expose all other tissues to fluoride by swallowing it.

4) Fluoridated water is no longer recommended for babies. In November of 2006, the American Dental Association (ADA) advised that parents should avoid giving babies fluoridated water (3). Other dental researchers have made similar recommendations over the past decade (4).

Babies exposed to fluoride are at high risk of developing dental fluorosis – a permanent tooth defect caused by fluoride damaging the cells which form the teeth (5). Other tissues in the body may also be affected by early-life exposures to fluoride. According to a recent review published in the medical journal The Lancet, fluoride may damage the developing brain, causing learning deficits and other problems (6).

5)There are better ways of delivering fluoride than adding it to water. By adding fluoride to everyone’s tap water, many infants and other at-risk populations will be put in harm’s way. This is not only wrong, it is unnecessary. As western Europe has demonstrated, there are many equally effective and less-intrusive ways of delivering fluoride to people who actually want it. For example:

A) Topical fluoride products such as toothpaste and mouthrinses (which come with explicit instructions not to swallow) are readily available at all grocery stores and pharmacies. Thus, for those individuals who wish to use fluoride, it is very easy to find and very inexpensive to buy.

B) If there is concern that some people in the community cannot afford to purchase fluoride toothpaste (a family-size tube of toothpaste costs as little as $2 to $3), the money saved by not fluoridating the water can be spent subsidizing topical fluoride products (or non-fluoride alternatives) for those families in need.

C) The vast majority of fluoride added to water supplies is wasted, since over 99% of tap water is not actually consumed by a human being. It is used instead to wash cars, water the lawn, wash dishes, flush toilets, etc.

6) Ingestion of fluoride has little benefit, but many risks. Whereas fluoride’s benefits come from topical contact with teeth, its risks to health (which involve many more tissues than the teeth) result from being swallowed.

Adverse effects from fluoride ingestion have been associated with doses atttainable by people living in fluoridated areas. For example:

a) Risk to the brain. According to the National Research Council (NRC), fluoride can damage the brain. Animal studies conducted in the 1990s by EPA scientists found dementia-like effects at the same concentration (1 ppm) used to fluoridate water, while human studies have found adverse effects on IQ at levels as low as 0.9 ppm among children with nutrient deficiencies, and 1.8 ppm among children with adequate nutrient intake. (7-10)

b) Risk to the thyroid gland. According to the NRC, fluoride is an “endocrine disrupter.” Most notably, the NRC has warned that doses of fluoride (0.01-0.03 mg/kg/day) achievable by drinking fluoridated water, may reduce the function of the thyroid among individuals with low-iodine intake. Reduction of thyroid activity can lead to loss of mental acuity, depression and weight gain (11)

c) Risk to bones. According to the NRC, fluoride can diminish bone strength and increase the risk for bone fracture. While the NRC was unable to determine what level of fluoride is safe for bones, it noted that the best available information suggests that fracture risk may be increased at levels as low 1.5 ppm, which is only slightly higher than the concentration (0.7-1.2 ppm) added to water for fluoridation. (12)

d) Risk for bone cancer. Animal and human studies – including a recent study from a team of Harvard scientists – have found a connection between fluoride and a serious form of bone cancer (osteosarcoma) in males under the age of 20. The connection between fluoride and osteosarcoma has been described by the National Toxicology Program as “biologically plausible.” Up to half of adolescents who develop osteosarcoma die within a few years of diagnosis. (13-16)

e) Risk to kidney patients. People with kidney disease have a heightened susceptibility to fluoride toxicity. The heightened risk stems from an impaired ability to excrete fluoride from the body. As a result, toxic levels of fluoride can accumulate in the bones, intensify the toxicity of aluminum build-up, and cause or exacerbate a painful bone disease known as renal osteodystrophy. (17-19)

7) The industrial chemicals used to fluoridate water may present unique health risks not found with naturally-occurring fluoride complexes . The chemicals – fluorosilicic acid, sodium silicofluoride, and sodium fluoride – used to fluoridate drinking water are industrial waste products from the phosphate fertilizer industry. Of these chemicals, fluorosilicic acid (FSA) is the most widely used. FSA is a corrosive acid which has been linked to higher blood lead levels in children. A recent study from the University of North Carolina found that FSA can – in combination with chlorinated compounds – leach lead from brass joints in water pipes, while a recent study from the University of Maryland suggests that the effect of fluoridation chemicals on blood lead levels may be greatest in houses built prior to 1946. Lead is a neurotoxin that can cause learning disabilities and behavioral problems in children. (20-23)

Water fluoridation’s benefits to teeth have been exaggerated. Even proponents of water fluoridation admit that it is not as effective as it was once claimed to be. While proponents still believe in its effectiveness, a growing number of studies strongly question this assessment. (24-46) According to a systematic review published by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, “The magnitude of [fluoridation's] effect is not large in absolute terms, is often not statistically significant and may not be of clinical significance.” (36)

a) No difference exists in tooth decay between fluoridated & unfluoridated countries. While water fluoridation is often credited with causing the reduction in tooth decay that has occurred in the US over the past 50 years, the same reductions in tooth decay have occurred in all western countries, most of which have never added fluoride to their water. The vast majority of western Europe has rejected water fluoridation. Yet, according to comprehensive data from the World Health Organization, their tooth decay rates are just as low, and, in fact, often lower than the tooth decay rates in the US. (25, 35, 44)

b) Cavities do not increase when fluoridation stops. In contrast to earlier findings, five studies published since 2000 have reported no increase in tooth decay in communities which have ended fluoridation. (37-41)

c) Fluoridation does not prevent oral health crises in low-income areas. While some allege that fluoridation is especially effective for low-income communities, there is very little evidence to support this claim. According to a recent systematic review from the British government, “The evidence about [fluoridation] reducing inequalities in dental health was of poor quality, contradictory and unreliable.” (45) In the United States, severe dental crises are occurring in low-income areas irrespective of whether the community has fluoride added to its water supply. (46) In addition, several studies have confirmed that the incidence of severe tooth decay in children (“baby bottle tooth decay”) is not significantly different in fluoridated vs unfluoridated areas. (27,32,42) Thus, despite some emotionally-based claims to the contrary, water fluoridation does not prevent the oral health problems related to poverty and lack of dental-care access.

9) Fluoridation poses added burden and risk to low-income communities. Rather than being particularly beneficial to low-income communities, fluoridation is particularly burdensome and harmful. For example:

a) Low-income families are least able to avoid fluoridated water. Due to the high costs of buying bottled water or expensive water filters, low-income households will be least able to avoid fluoride once it’s added to the water. As a result, low-income families will be least capable of following ADA’s recommendation that infants should not receive fluoridated water. This may explain why African American children have been found to suffer the highest rates of disfiguring dental fluorosis in the US. (47)

b) Low-income families at greater risk of fluoride toxicity. In addition, it is now well established that individuals with inadequate nutrient intake have a significantly increased susceptibility to fluoride’s toxic effects. (48-51) Since nutrient deficiencies are most common in income communities, and since diseases known to increase susceptibility to fluoride are most prevalent in low-income areas (e.g. end-stage renal failure), it is likely that low-income communities will be at greatest risk from suffering adverse effects associated with fluoride exposure. According to Dr. Kathleen Thiessen, a member of the National Research Council’s review of fluoride toxicity: “I would expect low-income communities to be more vulnerable to at least some of the effects of drinking fluoridated water.” (51)

10) Due to other sources, many people are being over-exposed to fluoride . Unlike when water fluoridation first began, Americans are now receiving fluoride from many other sources* besides the water supply. As a result many people are now exceeding the recommended daily intake, putting them at elevated risk of suffering toxic effects. For example, many children ingest more fluoride from toothpaste alone than is considered “optimal” for a full day’s worth of ingestion. According to the Journal of Public Health Dentistry:

“Virtually all authors have noted that some children could ingest more fluoride from [toothpaste] alone than is recommended as a total daily fluoride ingestion.” (52)

Because of the increase in fluoride exposure from all sources combined, the rate of dental fluorosis (a visible indicator of over-exposure to fluoride during childhood) has increased significantly over the past 50 years. Whereas dental fluorosis used to impact less than 10% of children in the 1940s, the latest national survey found that it now affects over 30% of children. (47, 53)

* Sources of fluoride include: fluoride dental products, fluoride pesticides, fluorinated pharmaceuticals, processed foods made with fluoridated water, and tea.

if you haven’t already guessed, i find most religion annoying…..demeaning……guilt-ridden……….and deadly. basically bad for one’s health.

i have a particular vendetta against “christianity” just because that’s what surrounds me, but i could pick a few bones about many other widely popular cults out there too. (and yes, even buddhism has a bloody past…into recent years….i personally don’t care for the dalai lama, even as just a political head.) i just love how truly evil and “unchristian” so many “good christians” can be…but i guess since they accepted jesus into their hearts they are free to be assholes to everyone else. so one “good” turn deserves another right?

(i want to add that when you go places where christianity is not main-stream or not the first religion there….you often find the christians there to be more true to what the “jesus” figure(s) talked about….where they are kind & helpful to strangers….where they can actually be good…..i suppose a few around here might be that way. but for the most part, it just seems to a facade or an excuse to be narrow-minded spiteful bigots.)

one thing i HATE about religion is all the damned divinely-sanctioned murder that has gone on because of it and that continues presently. (politically- and scientifically-sanctioned murder is closely wrapped up in the divine too, you just have to put a little effort into tracing origins…) but those damned “christians” constantly forget how wickedly murderous their cult has been and is! it’s awfully convenient to make the excuse that the people in the crusades for example or the conquistadores or various sorts of missionaries were not TRUE “christians”……..just like it’s convenient to say that animal sacrifice, infanticide, polygymy, stoning women to death for being raped was all ok because that was then and this is now. but the word of god isn’t wrong ever and doesn’t change, so either we need to start stoning rape victims again in order to obey god’s law or else maybe all of god’s warriors were the true “christians” of their time….they surely believed they were, and surely believed that killing “infidels” brought them closer to heaven, god, and all his sexy angels.

so stop with the excuses already and just admit that yahweh is pure evil! just like so many other little gods running around out there…why else do you think that yahweh was such a “jealous god”? who did he have to be jealous of if he was the only god? why would he have been so threatened by some stone or even golden idols? AND WHY DOES EVERY CHRISTIAN PRAY TO THE EGYPTIAN GOD AMEN IN EVERY BLASTED PRAYER?!?!

• As soon as Christianity was legal (315), more and more pagan temples were destroyed by Christian mob. Pagan priests were killed.
• Between 315 and 6th century thousands of pagan believers were slain.
• Examples of destroyed Temples: the Sanctuary of Aesculap in Aegaea, the Temple of Aphrodite in Golgatha, Aphaka in Lebanon, the Heliopolis.
• Christian priests such as Mark of Arethusa or Cyrill of Heliopolis were famous as “temple destroyer.” [DA468]
• Pagan services became punishable by death in 356. [DA468]
• Christian Emperor Theodosius (408-450) even had children executed, because they had been playing with remains of pagan statues. [DA469]
  According to Christian chroniclers he “followed meticulously all Christian teachings…”
• In 6th century pagans were declared void of all rights.
• In the early fourth century the philosopher Sopatros was executed on demand of Christian authorities. [DA466]
• The world famous female philosopher Hypatia of Alexandria was torn to pieces with glass fragments by a hysterical Christian mob led by a Christian minister named Peter, in a church, in 415.

• Emperor Karl (Charlemagne) in 782 had 4500 Saxons, unwilling to convert to Christianity, beheaded. [DO30]
• Peasants of Steding (Germany) unwilling to pay suffocating church taxes: between 5,000 and 11,000 men, women and children slain 5/27/1234 near Altenesch/Germany. [WW223]
• Battle of Belgrad 1456: 80,000 Turks slaughtered. [DO235]
• 15th century Poland: 1019 churches and 17987 villages plundered by Knights of the Order. Victims unknown. [DO30]
• 16th and 17th century Ireland. English troops “pacified and civilized” Ireland, where only Gaelic “wild Irish”, “unreasonable beasts lived without any knowledge of God or good manners, in common of their goods, cattle, women, children and every other thing.” One of the more successful soldiers, a certain Humphrey Gilbert, half-brother of Sir Walter Raleigh, ordered that “the heddes of all those (of what sort soever thei were) which were killed in the daie, should be cutte off from their bodies… and should bee laied on the ground by eche side of the waie”, which effort to civilize the Irish indeed caused “greate terrour to the people when thei sawe the heddes of their dedde fathers, brothers, children, kinsfolke, and freinds on the grounde”.
  Tens of thousands of Gaelic Irish fell victim to the carnage. [SH99, 225]

Still more dreadful was it to gaze upon the victors themselves, dripping with blood from head to foot, an ominous sight which brought terror to all who met them. • Christian chronicler Eckehard of Aura noted that “even the following summer in all of palestine the air was polluted by the stench of decomposition”. One million victims of the first crusade alone. [WW41]
• Battle of Askalon, 8/12/1099. 200,000 heathens slaughtered “in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ”. [WW45]
• Fourth crusade: 4/12/1204 Constantinople sacked, number of victims unknown, numerous thousands, many of them Christian. [WW141-148]

• Already in 385 C.E. the first Christians, the Spanish Priscillianus and six followers, were beheaded for heresy in Trier/Germany [DO26]
• Manichaean heresy: a crypto-Christian sect decent enough to practice birth control (and thus not as irresponsible as faithful Catholics) was exterminated in huge campaigns all over the Roman empire between 372 C.E. and 444 C.E. Numerous thousands of victims. [NC]
• Albigensians: the first Crusade intended to slay other Christians. [DO29]
  The Albigensians (cathars = Christians allegedly that have all rarely sucked) viewed themselves as good Christians, but would not accept roman Catholic rule, and taxes, and prohibition of birth control. [NC]
  Begin of violence: on command of pope Innocent III (greatest single pre-nazi mass murderer) in 1209. Bezirs (today France) 7/22/1209 destroyed, all the inhabitants were slaughtered. Victims (including Catholics refusing to turn over their heretic neighbours and friends) 20,000-70,000. [WW179-181]
• Carcassonne 8/15/1209, thousands slain. Other cities followed. [WW181]
• subsequent 20 years of war until nearly all Cathars (probably half the population of the Languedoc, today southern France) were exterminated. [WW183]
• After the war ended (1229) the Inquisition was founded 1232 to search and destroy surviving/hiding heretics. Last Cathars burned at the stake 1324. [WW183]
• Estimated one million victims (cathar heresy alone), [WW183]
• Other heresies: Waldensians, Paulikians, Runcarians, Josephites, and many others. Most of these sects exterminated, (I believe some Waldensians live today, yet they had to endure 600 years of persecution) I estimate at least hundred thousand victims (including the Spanish inquisition but excluding victims in the New World).
• Spanish Inquisitor Torquemada alone allegedly responsible for 10,220 burnings. [DO28]
• John Huss, a critic of papal infallibility and indulgences, was burned at the stake in 1415. [LI475-522]
• University professor B.Hubmaier burned at the stake 1538 in Vienna. [DO59]
• Giordano Bruno, Dominican monk, after having been incarcerated for seven years, was burned at the stake for heresy on the Campo dei Fiori (Rome) on 2/17/1600.

• 1568 Spanish Inquisition Tribunal ordered extermination of 3 million rebels in (then Spanish) Netherlands. Thousands were actually slain. [DO31]
• 1572 In France about 20,000 Huguenots were killed on command of pope Pius V. Until 17th century 200,000 flee. [DO31]
• 17th century: Catholics slay Gaspard de Coligny, a Protestant leader. After murdering him, the Catholic mob mutilated his body, “cutting off his head, his hands, and his genitals… and then dumped him into the river [...but] then, deciding that it was not worthy of being food for the fish, they hauled it out again [... and] dragged what was left … to the gallows of Montfaulcon, ‘to be meat and carrion for maggots and crows’.” [SH191]
• 17th century: Catholics sack the city of Magdeburg/Germany: roughly 30,000 Protestants were slain. “In a single church fifty women were found beheaded,” reported poet Friedrich Schiller, “and infants still sucking the breasts of their lifeless mothers.” [SH191]
• 17th century 30 years’ war (Catholic vs. Protestant): at least 40% of population decimated, mostly in Germany. [DO31-32]

• Already in the 4th and 5th centuries synagogues were burned by Christians. Number of Jews slain unknown.
• In the middle of the fourth century the first synagogue was destroyed on command of bishop Innocentius of Dertona in Northern Italy. The first synagogue known to have been burned down was near the river Euphrat, on command of the bishop of Kallinikon in the year 388. [DA450]
• 17. Council of Toledo 694: Jews were enslaved, their property confiscated, and their children forcibly baptized. [DA454]
• The Bishop of Limoges (France) in 1010 had the cities’ Jews, who would not convert to Christianity, expelled or killed. [DA453]
• First Crusade: Thousands of Jews slaughtered 1096, maybe 12.000 total. Places: Worms 5/18/1096, Mainz 5/27/1096 (1100 persons), Cologne, Neuss, Altenahr, Wevelinghoven, Xanten, Moers, Dortmund, Kerpen, Trier, Metz, Regensburg, Prag and others (All locations Germany except Metz/France, Prag/Czech) [EJ]
• Second Crusade: 1147. Several hundred Jews were slain in Ham, Sully, Carentan, and Rameru (all locations in France). [WW57]
• Third Crusade: English Jewish communities sacked 1189/90. [DO40]

• 1349 In more than 350 towns in Germany all Jews murdered, mostly burned alive (in this one year more Jews were killed than Christians in 200 years of ancient Roman persecution of Christians). [DO42]

• 1391 Seville’s Jews killed (Archbishop Martinez leading). 4,000 were slain, 25,000 sold as slaves. [DA454] Their identification was made easy by the brightly colored “badges of shame” that all jews above the age of ten had been forced to wear.
• 1492: In the year Columbus set sail to conquer a New World, more than 150,000 Jews were expelled from Spain, many died on their way: 6/30/1492. [MM470-476]
• 1648 Chmielnitzki massacres: In Poland about 200,000 Jews were slain. [DO43]

Native Peoples

• Beginning with Columbus (a former slave trader and would-be Holy Crusader) the conquest of the New World began, as usual understood as a means to propagate Christianity.
• Within hours of landfall on the first inhabited island he encountered in the Caribbean, Columbus seized and carried off six native people who, he said, “ought to be good servants … [and] would easily be made Christians, because it seemed to me that they belonged to no religion.” [SH200]
  While Columbus described the Indians as “idolators” and “slaves, as many as [the Crown] shall order,” his pal Michele de Cuneo, Italian nobleman, referred to the natives as “beasts” because “they eat when they are hungry,” and made love “openly whenever they feel like it.” [SH204-205]
• On every island he set foot on, Columbus planted a cross, “making the declarations that are required” – the requerimiento – to claim the ownership for his Catholic patrons in Spain. And “nobody objected.” If the Indians refused or delayed their acceptance (or understanding), the requerimiento continued:

I certify to you that, with the help of God, we shall powerfully enter in your country and shall make war against you … and shall subject you to the yoke and obedience of the Church … and shall do you all mischief that we can, as to vassals who do not obey and refuse to receive their lord and resist and contradict him.” [SH66]

• Likewise in the words of John Winthrop, first governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony: “justifieinge the undertakeres of the intended Plantation in New England … to carry the Gospell into those parts of the world, … and to raise a Bulworke against the kingdome of the Ante-Christ.” [SH235]
• In average two thirds of the native population were killed by colonist-imported smallpox before violence began. This was a great sign of “the marvelous goodness and providence of God” to the Christians of course, e.g. the Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony wrote in 1634, as “for the natives, they are near all dead of the smallpox, so as the Lord hath cleared our title to what we possess.” [SH109,238]
• On Hispaniola alone, on Columbus visits, the native population (Arawak), a rather harmless and happy people living on an island of abundant natural resources, a literal paradise, soon mourned 50,000 dead. [SH204]
• The surviving Indians fell victim to rape, murder, enslavement and spanish raids.
• As one of the culprits wrote: “So many Indians died that they could not be counted, all through the land the Indians lay dead everywhere. The stench was very great and pestiferous.” [SH69]
• The indian chief Hatuey fled with his people but was captured and burned alive. As “they were tying him to the stake a Franciscan friar urged him to take Jesus to his heart so that his soul might go to heaven, rather than descend into hell. Hatuey replied that if heaven was where the Christians went, he would rather go to hell.” [SH70]
• What happened to his people was described by an eyewitness:
  “The Spaniards found pleasure in inventing all kinds of odd cruelties … They built a long gibbet, long enough for the toes to touch the ground to prevent strangling, and hanged thirteen [natives] at a time in honor of Christ Our Saviour and the twelve Apostles… then, straw was wrapped around their torn bodies and they were burned alive.” [SH72]
  Or, on another occasion:
  “The Spaniards cut off the arm of one, the leg or hip of another, and from some their heads at one stroke, like butchers cutting up beef and mutton for market. Six hundred, including the cacique, were thus slain like brute beasts…Vasco [de Balboa] ordered forty of them to be torn to pieces by dogs.” [SH83]
• The “island’s population of about eight million people at the time of Columbus’s arrival in 1492 already had declined by a third to a half before the year 1496 was out.” Eventually all the island’s natives were exterminated, so the Spaniards were “forced” to import slaves from other caribbean islands, who soon suffered the same fate. Thus “the Caribbean’s millions of native people [were] thereby effectively liquidated in barely a quarter of a century”. [SH72-73] “In less than the normal lifetime of a single human being, an entire culture of millions of people, thousands of years resident in their homeland, had been exterminated.” [SH75]
• “And then the Spanish turned their attention to the mainland of Mexico and Central America. The slaughter had barely begun. The exquisite city of Tenochtitln [Mexico city] was next.” [SH75]
• Cortez, Pizarro, De Soto and hundreds of other spanish conquistadors likewise sacked southern and mesoamerican civilizations in the name of Christ (De Soto also sacked Florida).
• “When the 16th century ended, some 200,000 Spaniards had moved to the Americas. By that time probably more than 60,000,000 natives were dead.” [SH95]

Of course no different were the founders of what today is the US of Amerikkka.

• Although none of the settlers would have survived winter without native help, they soon set out to expel and exterminate the Indians. Warfare among (north American) Indians was rather harmless, in comparison to European standards, and was meant to avenge insults rather than conquer land. In the words of some of the pilgrim fathers: “Their Warres are farre less bloudy…”, so that there usually was “no great slawter of nether side”. Indeed, “they might fight seven yeares and not kill seven men.” What is more, the Indians usually spared women and children. [SH111]
• In the spring of 1612 some English colonists found life among the (generally friendly and generous) natives attractive enough to leave Jamestown – “being idell … did runne away unto the Indyans,” – to live among them (that probably solved a sex problem).
  “Governor Thomas Dale had them hunted down and executed: ‘Some he apointed (sic) to be hanged Some burned Some to be broken upon wheles, others to be staked and some shott to deathe’.” [SH105] Of course these elegant measures were restricted for fellow englishmen: “This was the treatment for those who wished to act like Indians. For those who had no choice in the matter, because they were the native people of Virginia” methods were different: “when an Indian was accused by an Englishman of stealing a cup and failing to return it, the English response was to attack the natives in force, burning the entire community” down. [SH105]
• On the territory that is now Massachusetts the founding fathers of the colonies were committing genocide, in what has become known as the “Peqout War”. The killers were New England Puritan Christians, refugees from persecution in their own home country England.
• When however, a dead colonist was found, apparently killed by Narragansett Indians, the Puritan colonists wanted revenge. Despite the Indian chief’s pledge they attacked.
  Somehow they seem to have lost the idea of what they were after, because when they were greeted by Pequot Indians (long-time foes of the Narragansetts) the troops nevertheless made war on the Pequots and burned their villages.
  The puritan commander-in-charge John Mason after one massacre wrote: “And indeed such a dreadful Terror did the Almighty let fall upon their Spirits, that they would fly from us and run into the very Flames, where many of them perished … God was above them, who laughed his Enemies and the Enemies of his People to Scorn, making them as a fiery Oven … Thus did the Lord judge among the Heathen, filling the Place with dead Bodies”: men, women, children. [SH113-114]
• So “the Lord was pleased to smite our Enemies in the hinder Parts, and to give us their land for an inheritance”. [SH111].
• Because of his readers’ assumed knowledge of Deuteronomy, there was no need for Mason to quote the words that immediately follow:
  “Thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth. But thou shalt utterly destroy them…” (Deut 20)
• Mason’s comrade Underhill recalled how “great and doleful was the bloody sight to the view of the young soldiers” yet reassured his readers that “sometimes the Scripture declareth women and children must perish with their parents”. [SH114]
• Other Indians were killed in successful plots of poisoning. The colonists even had dogs especially trained to kill Indians and to devour children from their mothers breasts, in the colonists’ own words: “blood Hounds to draw after them, and Mastives to seaze them.” (This was inspired by spanish methods of the time)
  In this way they continued until the extermination of the Pequots was near. [SH107-119]
• The surviving handful of Indians “were parceled out to live in servitude. John Endicott and his pastor wrote to the governor asking for ‘a share’ of the captives, specifically ‘a young woman or girle and a boy if you thinke good’.” [SH115]
• Other tribes were to follow the same path.
• Comment the Christian exterminators: “God’s Will, which will at last give us cause to say: How Great is His Goodness! and How Great is his Beauty!”
  “Thus doth the Lord Jesus make them to bow before him, and to lick the Dust!” [TA]
• Like today, lying was OK to Christians then. “Peace treaties were signed with every intention to violate them: when the Indians ‘grow secure uppon (sic) the treatie’, advised the Council of State in Virginia, ‘we shall have the better Advantage both to surprise them, & cutt downe theire Corne’.” [SH106]
• In 1624 sixty heavily armed Englishmen cut down 800 defenseless Indian men, women and children. [SH107]
• In a single massacre in “King Philip’s War” of 1675 and 1676 some “600 Indians were destroyed. A delighted Cotton Mather, revered pastor of the Second Church in Boston, later referred to the slaughter as a ‘barbeque’.” [SH115]
• To summarize: Before the arrival of the English, the western Abenaki people in New Hampshire and Vermont had numbered 12,000. Less than half a century later about 250 remained alive – a destruction rate of 98%. The Pocumtuck people had numbered more than 18,000, fifty years later they were down to 920 – 95% destroyed. The Quiripi-Unquachog people had numbered about 30,000, fifty years later they were down to 1500 – 95% destroyed. The Massachusetts people had numbered at least 44,000, fifty years later barely 6000 were alive – 81% destroyed. [SH118] These are only a few examples of the multitude of tribes living before Christian colonists set their foot on the New World. All this was before the smallpox epidemics of 1677 and 1678 had occurred. And the carnage was not over then.
• All the above was only the beginning of the European colonization, it was before the frontier age actually had begun.
• A total of maybe more than 150 million Indians (of both Americas) were destroyed in the period of 1500 to 1900, as an average two thirds by smallpox and other epidemics, that leaves some 50 million killed directly by violence, bad treatment and slavery.
• In many countries, such as Brazil, and Guatemala, this continues even today.

More Glorious events in US history

• Reverend Solomon Stoddard, one of New England’s most esteemed religious leaders, in “1703 formally proposed to the Massachusetts Governor that the colonists be given the financial wherewithal to purchase and train large packs of dogs ‘to hunt Indians as they do bears’.” [SH241]
• Massacre of Sand Creek, Colorado 11/29/1864. Colonel John Chivington, a former Methodist minister and still elder in the church (“I long to be wading in gore”) had a Cheyenne village of about 600, mostly women and children, gunned down despite the chiefs’ waving with a white flag: 400-500 killed.
  From an eye-witness account: “There were some thirty or forty squaws collected in a hole for protection; they sent out a little girl about six years old with a white flag on a stick; she had not proceeded but a few steps when she was shot and killed. All the squaws in that hole were afterwards killed …” [SH131]
  More gory details.
• By the 1860s, “in Hawai’i the Reverend Rufus Anderson surveyed the carnage that by then had reduced those islands’ native population by 90 percent or more, and he declined to see it as tragedy; the expected total die-off of the Hawaiian population was only natural, this missionary said, somewhat equivalent to ‘the amputation of diseased members of the body’.” [SH244]

20th Century Church Atrocities

• Catholic extermination camps
  Surpisingly few know that Nazi extermination camps in World War II were by no means the only ones in Europe at the time. In the years 1942-1943 also in Croatia existed numerous extermination camps, run by Catholic Ustasha under their dictator Ante Paveli, a practising Catholic and regular visitor to the then pope. There were even concentration camps exclusively for children!
  In these camps – the most notorious was Jasenovac, headed by a Franciscan friar – orthodox-Christian serbians (and a substantial number of Jews) were murdered. Like the Nazis the Catholic Ustasha burned their victims in kilns, alive (the Nazis were decent enough to have their victims gassed first). But most of the victims were simply stabbed, slain or shot to death, the number of them being estimated between 300,000 and 600,000, in a rather tiny country. Many of the killers were Franciscan friars. The atrocities were appalling enough to induce bystanders of the Nazi “Sicherheitsdient der SS”, watching, to complain about them to Hitler (who did not listen). The pope knew about these events and did nothing to prevent them. [MV]
• Catholic terror in Vietnam
  In 1954 Vietnamese freedom fighters – the Viet Minh – had finally defeated the French colonial government in North Vietnam, which by then had been supported by U.S. funds amounting to more than $2 billion. Although the victorious assured religious freedom to all (most non-buddhist Vietnamese were Catholics), due to huge anticommunist propaganda campaigns many Catholics fled to the South. With the help of Catholic lobbies in Washington and Cardinal Spellman, the Vatican’s spokesman in U.S. politics, who later on would call the U.S. forces in Vietnam “Soldiers of Christ”, a scheme was concocted to prevent democratic elections which could have brought the communist Viet Minh to power in the South as well, and the fanatic Catholic Ngo Dinh Diem was made president of South Vietnam. [MW16ff]
  Diem saw to it that U.S. aid, food, technical and general assistance was given to Catholics alone, Buddhist individuals and villages were ignored or had to pay for the food aids which were given to Catholics for free. The only religious denomination to be supported was Roman Catholicism.
  The Vietnamese McCarthyism turned even more vicious than its American counterpart. By 1956 Diem promulgated a presidential order which read:
  • “Individuals considered dangerous to the national defense and common security may be confined by executive order, to a concentration camp.“

  Supposedly to fight communism, thousands of buddhist protesters and monks were imprisoned in “detention camps.” Out of protest dozens of buddhist teachers – male and female – and monks poured gasoline over themselves and burned themselves. (Note that Buddhists burned themselves: in comparison Christians tend to burn others). Meanwhile some of the prison camps, which in the meantime were filled with Protestant and even Catholic protesters as well, had turned into no-nonsense death camps. It is estimated that during this period of terror (1955-1960) at least 24,000 were wounded – mostly in street riots – 80,000 people were executed, 275,000 had been detained or tortured, and about 500,000 were sent to concentration or detention camps. [MW76-89].
  To support this kind of government in the next decade thousands of American GI’s lost their life.

• Christianity kills the cat
  On July 1, 1976, Anneliese Michel, a 23-year-old student of a teachers college in Germany, died: she starved herself to death. For months she had been haunted by demonic visions and apparitions, and for months two Catholic priests – with explicit approval of the Catholic bishop of Wrzburg – additionally pestered and tormented the wretched girl with their exorcist rituals. After her death in Klingenberg hospital – her body was littered with wounds – her parents, both of them fanatical Catholics, were sentenced to six months for not having called for medical help. None of the priests was punished: on the contrary, Miss Michel’s grave today is a place of pilgrimage and worship for a number of similarly faithful Catholics (in the seventeenth century Wrzburg was notorious for it’s extensive witch burnings).
  This case is only the tip of an iceberg of such evil superstition and has become known only because of its lethal outcome. [SP80]
• Rwanda Massacres
  In 1994 in the small african country of Rwanda in just a few months several hundred thousand civilians were butchered, apparently a conflict of the Hutu and Tutsi ethnic groups.
  For quite some time I heard only rumours about Catholic clergy actively involved in the 1994 Rwanda massacres. Odd denials of involvement were printed in Catholic church journals, before even anybody had openly accused members of the church.
  Then, 10/10/96, in the newscast of S2 Aktuell, Germany – a station not at all critical to Christianity – the following was stated:
  • “Anglican as well as Catholic priests and nuns are suspect of having actively participated in murders. Especially the conduct of a certain Catholic priest has been occupying the public mind in Rwanda’s capital Kigali for months. He was minister of the church of the Holy Family and allegedly murdered Tutsis in the most brutal manner. He is reported to have accompanied marauding Hutu militia with a gun in his cowl. In fact there has been a bloody slaughter of Tutsis seeking shelter in his parish. Even two years after the massacres many Catholics refuse to set foot on the threshold of their church, because to them the participation of a certain part of the clergy in the slaughter is well established. There is almost no church in Rwanda that has not seen refugees – women, children, old – being brutally butchered facing the crucifix.
    According to eyewitnesses clergymen gave away hiding Tutsis and turned them over to the machetes of the Hutu militia.
    In connection with these events again and again two Benedictine nuns are mentioned, both of whom have fled into a Belgian monastery in the meantime to avoid prosecution. According to survivors one of them called the Hutu killers and led them to several thousand people who had sought shelter in her monastery. By force the doomed were driven out of the churchyard and were murdered in the presence of the nun right in front of the gate. The other one is also reported to have directly cooperated with the murderers of the Hutu militia. In her case again witnesses report that she watched the slaughtering of people in cold blood and without showing response. She is even accused of having procured some petrol used by the killers to set on fire and burn their victims alive…” [S2]
• As can be seen from these events, to Christianity the Dark Ages never come to an end.

If today Christians talk to me about morality, this is why they make me sick.

the reasons are quite simple really and blatantly obvious:

• columbus unfortunately did not discover america….i believe he died convinced he had landed in asia
• columbus unfortunately did begin an enormous wave of european influx to the “american” continents……which of course led to the massacre of its people and the rape of its land (both still on-going) for “glory, god, & gold”

i don’t see how this is something we should be celebrating….why should we feel pride over destruction and death?

i find it equally horrifying that conquistadores were welcomed in and then proceeded to take murderous advantage of a truly warped situation…..in many ways i wish that the native diseases had taken a greater toll on the invaders…..or that they hadn’t have had guns or hadn’t have felt justified to steal, kill, enslave, destroy because “god” was on their side….if christianity isn’t devil worship i don’t know what is

and of course someone will point out that perhaps the native cultures were not perfect either and caused plenty of death & destruction themselves…..but of course this is not justification for what the europeans (and hence many of our ancestors) did to them…there is not and will never be anything to justify those actions…..it can only be an example of human cruelty

logic, reason, christianity, nothing at all makes one civilization better than another, makes its values & beliefs more real and worthy of emulation, nor justifies the violence it throws at itself & others……being more powerful does not make you the best and does not validate engulfing everyone else and forcing your practices upon them

all right! ’tis the season of giant turkey balloons! man, where’s my dart gun? and then next month there will be giant air-sacs shaped like santa, snowpeople, reindeer…..oh god, pure bliss! i also like it when they blow away. winds are pretty strong today. it’s snowing too. let’s keep those fingers crossed, shall we?

so one internet group i lurk around on when i’m bored had a post about “thanksgiving”, and i really really really wanted to post something in reply. however, i figured it wouldn’t be considered “nice” enough to actually be posted, so i came here to pour out my rantings.

first off, let’s give the turkeys something to be thankful for. funny thing, i have never eaten turkey in my entire life. and that’s not because my family didn’t as i grew up, since they did and do. that makes me feel good about myself. at least i’m not supporting the horrible atrocities against those poor birds. btw, have you ever sat in the woods all still and seen wild turkeys? totally awesome. they are so fast. hey if the turkey was the one picked to be the national bird, would we be eating eagles for thanksgiving? well, we know that could never have been since i don’t think the turkey has any occult/esoteric/etc symbolism behind it. no national status for the turkey! only non-life as fodder for the carnivores!

furthermore, all that bullshit about indians & pilgrims makes me want to storm some castles. at least they’re outlawing holidays in public schools so less of that kind of drivel is being taught. now if we can only get rid of all the rest of the crap they pawn off as science, history, and a whole host of other required subjects.

lastly, i have a serious problem with the whole name “thanksgiving”. i remember “thanksgiving” as being a time when i was forced to go to relatives’ houses where i was emotionally tortured (my brother got that on top of being beaten up. i’m serious. black eyes and more just because he was a little kid), and would spend my sentence trying to hide as far away from these cousins, uncles, aunts, etc for as long as i possibly could. luckily at some point the football game on television (which was always on) would distract most of these people and i could safely escape outside, maybe hide inside a bush or in the car, only to have to finally drag myself inside because i was freezing cold. when i didn’t eat turkey (and i never did remember) i would be taunted mercilessly. when i got a little older and was trying to learn scottish gaelic (at the age of 13) and would bring my books so i could have SOMETHING to do until we left, well of course i was attacked for wanting to learn something. seriously. these are the people who i am related to?! these are the people who i would never ever in all of eternity NEVER associate with. thank god when my mother finally stopped going to these horrors, because then i didn’t have to anymore either. though of course my father thought it mean. guess he didn’t understand how mean his family was/is. sometimes i hear about who hates who among them. i just have to laugh. so THANKSGIVING is not about THANKS and it is not about GIVING. it is about STUFFING YOUR GUT and WATCHING FOOTBALL. that’s among families. in the commercial world, it means MAKING LOTS OF MONEY. this is what all holidays are basically for. EATING, WATCHING SPORTS GAMES, MAKING MONEY (or SPENDING MONEY if you’re the consumer), and an EXCUSE TO CLOSE BANKS.

and please don’t try to convince me that christmas is a holiday to celebrate the birth of baby jesus. unless by “baby jesus” you mean “the sun”. that’s SUN not SON. the glowing orb in the daytime skies. you could also mean the celebration of expensive fad toys & gadgets or the birth of super sales (both meanings or points of view for that word–consumer & retailer). or another time when you’re forced to visit those people you never see except at certain holidays and who you really don’t like. or a time to blow darts at giant ballons in peoples’ front lawns. all of these could work.

and if you’re going to give away chemicals, artificial flavors, artificial colors….excuse me, i mean prepackaged “food”….maybe you should think twice. i don’t think god would be very proud of your contributing to poisoning the masses. i’m sure there’s something better you could give. think real hard and it might come to you. i’m not being facitious here.

and have a oh so happy thanksgiving! (NOW i’m being facitious)

uhhhh i wish those great & glorious trespassing hunters would have the decency to take the animals they murder whole instead of leaving bits & pieces of their carcasses for me to stumble over and despose of………….and it seems like there’s always plenty of free venison advertised in the local trading papers……..a literal overkill mayhaps?……….hmmmmmm…..

another thing that really peeves me is that so many people can’t seem to understand that some people don’t like to eat animals–and oh my god!–so they don’t ever do it! how can that be??? they don’t want meat on their sandwich? how could they eat just the bread & vegetables & fruit??????!!!!!!!! how????!!!!! OH AND VEGETARIAN DOES NOT MEAN “EATS FISH , SEAFOOD, & WHITE MEAT”. god how many people think that………i’m glad i only ate meat a few times a year growing up, so i can say to certain people that i have never been fond of consuming putrefying animal carcasses so that completely eliminating them from my diet was a breeze. animal flesh just tastes gross in my opinion–always has. the texture is disgusting. bleck! and how many carnivorous humans actually eat the meat plain or not fried? yeah, that’s what i thought. guess what! you can eat almost all fruits, nuts, & vegetables without doing a thing to them! that’s right, RAW!

speaking of raw food, i had an apple the other day, grown organic, no paraffin or animal wax covering it–still had a leaf attached to the stem……..and jesus that was the best apple i have ever had in my life!!!! i never really liked apples growing up because they had no taste, but well, that’s what commercialism, genetic modification, chemicals, & depleted soil do for you! thanks FDA!

***for those of you who don’t know, most of the food in a grocery store is sneakily filled with animal ingredients…..things you wouldn’t ever dream of having them (like those super shiny apples!)……sometimes it might be synthetic, but you can’t ever tell by the ingredient lists and the companies aren’t going to tell you….so i guess really all that food is is synthetic chemicals & meat for the most part. and i absolutely love how it’s legal to call something juice that has 1% juice FROM CONCENTRATE and the rest just corn syrup & water…..oh right & aspartame. thanks, but i’ll take mine without the nerve toxin….

sometimes other people just say things better……..not that voltaire was the greatest person in the world, but some of his words were pretty nice & are still applicable……….i wonder is it because we’re still being ruled by royalty? because we’re still acting so frickin’ helpless & oblivious? come on, we were not sent here to conquer & destroy the world (or each other), though we certainly act like that an awful lot….no divine birthrights, no manifest destinies………..having electricity & a car doesn’t make you a better person…..just one that pays electric bills, car & insurance payments. ha.

so last friday in vermont’s capital there was this nice meeting for the second vermont republic. i wish they would secede. i wish every state would secede. 50 little countries. wouldn’t that be funny? maybe then the world wouldn’t just hate americans, but maybe just floridians or dc-ites or whatever. then you’d get this special passport to travel between what used to be “united” states….oh wait but you’re already going to have to get one of those. a bit orwellian, huh?
